Knock-on effects
The new factory will have considerable knock-on effects for the local community, during both construction and operations phases.

Local service need
Service will be needed during the annual audit stoppages.
Raw materials
The total annual requirement will be approximately 1.2 million m3. BioWood is currently working on securing this supply.
The first few years most of the raw materials will be imported. This will be certified wood from traceable plantations. It is BioWood’s intention that a larger proportion will be sourced in Norway, but this will require a good deal of development in the value chain. Competitiveness and logistics are important keywords.
The report on coastal forestry presented in Bergen in January 2008 will be an important document and collaboration will be needed between the counties mentioned in the report, in order to increase the amount of timber being felled in Norway’s coastal forests.
