Welcome to BioWood Norway!


Thursday 10th of June 2010 the second biggest factory for production of wood pellets in the world was officially opened.

BioWood Norway will produce 450 000 tonnes of environmentally friendly wood pellets (equivalent to 2 TWh) per year as energy carrier for the processing industry and coal-fired power plants on the European market.

The factory will provide stable access to refined bio fuel for industrial purposes, as well as increase the conversion from fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas, to renewable energy carriers. BioWood Norway AS is the beginning of a new environmental fairytale in Norway. The company is wholly owned by Hafslund.
